A couple years ago I suggested to the City of St. Louis fleet director that they should consider this hybrid over the V8-powered Chevy Tahoe because of the fuel savings at idle, and was basically laughed at. However, I suppose the Tahoe better reflects the highly resistant to change dinosaur that is the St. Louis

Thank you, now it makes sense.

Reference to a Rage Against The Machine song about cops.

The engine will cycle on and off so the engine will run for one or two minutes and it will run off the hybrid battery for 15ish minutes and repeat.

Cops never turn off their cars. Not while they’re in them doing scarecrow policing, or out of them getting a refill on coffee or other coffee-related baked goods.

The Police Interceptor version is designed specifically to be able to run all of the accessories on the battery alone while the vehicle is switched on.

In terms of biggest bang for the buck for emissions reductions, this makes the most sense.

Hybrids make ideal police vehicles. Especially for a maintenance department that is more aware than anyone just how fragile ecoboost engines can be.

That or that the overall community has been slamming Valve for not updating Half Life to work on modern machines. I mean, the game worked on modern machines, but because of modern hardware, there’s a lot of busted sounds and animations because either hardware doesn’t support older game systems or that the software

I don’t agree with that sentiment. Game’s preservation aside, I think this game is one of those foundational games anyone who really enjoys games as an art/games as a developer/games as xyz. Because there’s a lot of history in this game and probably one of the only reasons to why games from Remedy or a game like Prey,

Reverting to the default models after literal decades of the community asking. I’ll take it though. Better late than never, Half-Life aged like wine.

Batali was the first chef I really started following; Molto Italiano was the first cookbook I ever purchased. Besides my mom and grandmothers, he’s the first “teacher” I ever had when it came to cooking and I feel like I still approach recipes — or cooking off the cuff — with the mindset I evolved from reading Molto

oh man, not MY futon  LOL    it’s got a nice thick mattress, can’t feel any of those bars.   even have a couple nice mattress covers - you know, for when I was expecting visitors and stuff     ;P

I’ve never slept on a futon that didn’t have a crappy mattress through which I could feel all the slats. But I did like to lean against the back.

Someone I worked with had tons of days to burn, so came up with a brilliant plan. Take alternate Friday/Monday combos off. 4 days work, 4 days off, 4 days on, 2 days off, 4 days on, repeat. Worked great for travelling to sailing contests.

The first things that come to mind are any lifted trucks with a Bluetooth driveshaft and anything that’s a Scary Steering Page candidate. Also almost anything in the SEMA Fails Facebook group. It looks like there’s a ton ugly slapdash "builds" every year and they are getting worse

These thoughts mirror my own regarding these places. Id love to eat Popeye’s but they seem to just hate customers. If I go to CFA, I know I will get exactly what I ordered, on time, and without a hassle.

Yes, I’ve been wanting to try it, but have been too lazy to make the 2 hour drive to the nearest one. Wish they’d expand more!

I think that CFA is the McDonald’s fries of chicken sandwiches. I don’t want to eat a CFA sandwich because I want a high quality fried chicken sandwich, I eat it because I’m craving a CFA chicken sandwich.  I don’t have fast-food almost ever, but if I’m on a road trip or want a fast-food chicken sandwich, I’ll almost
