“It’s a little, shall we say, cringey. And I know from cringe; I was in those fucking Star Wars prequels.”
“It’s a little, shall we say, cringey. And I know from cringe; I was in those fucking Star Wars prequels.”
It wasn’t. The people here are just trying to prove their moral superiority in the same way the right wing refers to everyone they hate as “groomers”.
That would require understanding that characters can have moral ambiguity, something far above what these perpetually online folks can wrap their heads around.
Or like just leaving dog poop on the sidewalk?
Like slathering everything with butter?
Even Leon character finds it cringey, and that’s what saved it for me. He very specifically makes sure it never goes beyond platonic because he knows it’s wrong. Which is more than can be said for the director, a fact I only learned much later in life.
i just figured it was a french thing
There have been rumors of a new Switch for years. I feel like at this point we will get one when we get one. I suspect that the pandemic delayed it for sure but I also think that Nintendo looks at the Switch sales, which are still really good, and remembers the Wii to Wii-U transition and does not want to repeat that.
I’m with you, it was definitely cringey at the time. I always thought part of the point of the movie was that the relationship was all kinds of unhealthy for both of them?
I never really got it was a romance movie at all. What I took from it was this girl lost her family, mostly shitty except her little brother, and ended up being given care and consideration by this man. Since she never felt that sort of connection with anyone except her brother, she was confused by what it meant and…
Because Corey Gary is a fool...as are a significant percentage of the population.
I was expressly forbidden from accepting tips at fast food restaurants.
Can they just bring back the Chicken and Waffles from the Do Us A Flavor era? Because the limited run flavors from Aldi are drinking their milkshake right now.
Was at an auto parts store today and the credit reader suggested a %15 tip. At a parts store. Asked the guy behind the counter who got the tip and he said "No idea, the suggestion just showed up on Monday."
Why avoid going? Just don’t tip.
Lays’s classic chips “deeply potato-flavored”?!? Lay’s classic chips are about the most flavorless ones I’ve ever had. They taste like nothing but oil and salt. Almost any other chip has more potato flavor.
Not in many states. Where I live servers get about $3 an hour, about enough to cover the taxes on claimed tips.
I hate this spread of tipping beyond traditional stuff like restaurants/bars/movers/etc. It’s just a way for even more companies to pass off their compensation costs on to customers.
I feel zero remorse or guilt when I press the No Tip option on digital pay systems. I will tip when I want to, I do not need a prompt/notification asking if I want to tip. If I’m given great service, I tip, plain and simple. Crappy service? Crappy Tip. Be a dick to me, no tip.
I’m sorry, but this is purely management saying, “We’re not willing to pay employees enough.”
