A former (and you'll see why) friend of mine graduated from bridezilla to momzilla. In order to visit her baby, you had to have written permission from your doctor that you'd had all your shots. She wasn't going to risk her child's life on your word! And you had to email her a minimum of two weeks in advance to set…
So, this is only tangentially connected, but what is the general consensus of a "potluck" wedding? Like, you're poor, you want to invite a bunch of friends to come celebrate in your back yard, and you ask people to bring some eats or booze instead of a pricey gift. Is this weird/does it violate the concept of "if you…
I wonder what it would have looked like if it had given birth like a worker.
Nothing comes out when he moves his lips, just a bunch of gibberish.
I actually kinda like the video. I just don't like the rapping. It's just not very good imho.
I HAVE NEVER HEARD OF SUCH GINORMOUS BULLSHIT IN MY LIFE! WHO THE FUCK HAS THE TIME TRY SHIT LIKE THIS OUT AND GET OTHERS TO FUCKING TRY!!?
Sounds more like a "parent" service. I can imagine beleaguered parents doing all that random crap for their fully grown children.
tl;dr.
I actually DON'T think she is an empowered character. I read somewhere that talked about how she only exists as a sidepiece to Walt (which I can understand since its a TV show about him essentially) and I see all her actions being done mainly out of fear. Which makes me feel bad for her.
In Australia it's called 'paid parental leave' and can be taken by either parent. And if one parent takes the full 18 weeks the other can still have two weeks off as well.
My husband got twelve weeks of paternity leave, but when our kid was born was born his bosses worried asked, "You're not going to take ALL TWELVE WEEKS, are you?!?!" He took two.
Yes - Germany requires fathers to take at least 2 months of paternity leave if the combined total of 14 months parental leave is to be achieved. This can be taken consecutively or concurrent.
Yeah, it's called the "Family and Medical Leave Act."
It depends on the state and your insurance. You can take unpaid leave through FMLA, and in California you pay into an insurance program as part of your taxes that gives you paternity leave. The paid leave isn't available in Texas. I don't know about other states.
In the US other than FMLA it depends on the employer, just like maternity leave. My husband's employer offers 12 weeks paid.
It really varies by company. At my old firm we gave 6 weeks paid paternity leave, at my current job they give 3 weeks but you can take an additional 60 days of FMLA which is paid at 60%. I think it is becoming more common, as it should be.
My mom once subbed for three months for a guy who was taking off since his wife had had twins.
I know my dad did, but it was more like part-time leave (in his department's defense, it was a year until the whole thing shut down and they all moved to one of three other bases). He also learned to stop coming home in new sweaters. Little me explained my dislike by puking on them every time.
It means that Jezebel only covered the show once, and that coverage was primarily about Shonda Rhimes's Twittered disappointment that the show lacked diversity in its main cast. Now that it's cancelled, Jezebel is embarrassed to discover that many prominent television (and non-television) writers around the web have…
