No, I called the cops because they were all over the road. The two bikes were crisscrossing between lanes, the car was consistently driving in the middle of the two lanes, and the car was attempting (but failing) to drift on curves.

I think that’s the point of water constantly being sprayed on the road. Reduce the friction and cool the tires.

The ones where it’s a single vehicle on a straight road are so hard to watch. If you notice you’re slipping on the ice, just don’t fucking do anything! If you let the wheels spin freely, your car is going to continue to go in a straight line!

Other people in this thread are noting that there is a ton of signage, but it’s clearly not enough if there’s still one truck a month hitting it. Considering it’s mostly rental moving trucks, the people hitting it are people who probably have never driven a truck that big and who are probably unfamiliar with the area;

I guess it also depends on the jurisdiction. I was driving up the interstate in a relatively unpopulated area of the state, and there was a car and two motorcycles acting like complete jackasses. I was stuck behind them because they were making the situation way too dangerous to pass, so I just fell back a bit and

Uh, what cop? This is an average driver with a dashcam

I think “attempted” covered that well enough. It being premeditated would mean that it was planned before the attempt occurred.

I love the part about the games taking a long time to download, which makes it worth it. You can download 750GB on a 100Mbps connection in 16 hours. On a slower connection, let it run overnight a couple of nights and voila, everything is downloaded.

When I first browsed used cars a few years ago looking for something cheap and functional, I saw so many of those. I would always say in my email “if it’s that simple, get it fixed, and you can even add it to the cost.”

I’ve seen some rundown motels advertising “flat screen television in every room,” which makes sense, because it’s not like a modestly-sized LCD screen is expensive anymore, so it’s pretty much expected but a shitty motel might not have it.

I thought most modern braking systems were electronically controlled? Wouldn’t they have to be for traction control/stability control to work? Or is that more a case of it being a purely hydraulic system and the electronics only tweak how it functions, so if the electronics failed, you’d still have basic brakes?

Every time I see that Stinger GT2 I want it so bad. I used to rent cars frequently and when I was deciding what car I wanted to buy for myself, I went with an Optima because it was nicer than all the other mid-sized sedans I had driven. And since the Stinger looks like a fancy, powerful Optima, I feel like it would be

Huh? Most cars will automatically lock the doors when you put it in drive and automatically unlock when you put it in park, but you can still manually unlock the door. Plus, at least on my Optima, the automatic locking is a configurable setting: on shift to drive, at 5mph, or not at all.

As a pedestrian, I think having an SUV or a Smart Car run you over are both going to fuck you up pretty badly. The power and weight only really are going to have an effect on acceleration or braking. If you’re getting hit by an object with significantly more surface area than you at any speed, the weight isn’t going

I’ve done something like that half a dozen times this winter when I can’t feel which button I’m pressing because I’m wearing gloves. I keep pressing the stupid unlock button, the stupid car isn’t unlocking, I hold down the stupid button just trying to will it to unlock, and then the trunk pops open because it turns

UGH. So that’s what my issue is. I have a Kia Optima and it just uses J-hooks to keep the wipers on, meaning I’m constantly knocking them off when I’m scraping the windshield. I could never figure out how to get the wiper arm up because it seemed to be blocked by the hood. Just checked the manual and discovered I need

How DARE Twitter suggest he follow the people he tweets about?!

Alternatively, if you properly apply it (you spray it on a cloth and rub it thoroughly onto the windshield), it will last you months. The hardest part of clearing my car is getting the snow off the hood, roof, and trunk. The rear defroster takes care of the back window, while clearing the windshield and side windows

All states have either implemented it or have an extension. Like in PA, they were saying they weren’t going to comply so the feds were like “too fucking bad, no more extensions for you.” After that, they actually passed a law and began the process of becoming compliant, so they have a new extension now.

They probably got a hell of a deal on it. At the latest it was manufactured in July 2015, and at the earliest, it was sold in January 2017. So some dealer probably had it sitting on the lot for a year and just wanted it gone.
