I noticed my 2016 Optima gets a biiiig difference in fuel efficiency depending on if it’s warm or not. I hadn’t driven since yesterday, and this afternoon, I hopped in the car and immediately went to the store two miles away in 15°F weather. I got 10MPG fuel efficiency. Then, on the way back, along the exact same

I currently drive an Optima and the Stinger has me so excited. Before I bought this car, I mostly drove rentals whenever I needed a car, and out of all the mid-size sedans I drove, the Optima was the best experience overall. So I’m hoping the Stinger is going to be the same quality, but in a higher tier.

But it is a common observation that she has a “likability” issue. She’s a wonk, which is personally what I prefer in a politician, but unfortunately, she’s just a really bad politicker. Unfortunately, being good at politicking is what it generally takes to be elected.

You have it reversed. If the answer is “no,” that means that the person is not currently cheating and that they have never cheated.

I don’t have any medical issues, but I do have a pretty bad intolerance for onions and yet I continue to eat onions as if I don’t, so occasionally, I will have an urgent need to use the bathroom RIGHT NOW. One time, I went into the nearest store, which happened to be a chain convenience store, but not one with a

Oh, I have one. If you’re driving in a parking lot and you see a car reversing out of a spot, fucking stop. Right after I got my car, I was at the grocery store and while I was shopping, two large SUVs had parked on either side of me. I couldn’t see if there was any cross traffic around the SUVs because they were

But “He is sorry to anyone he has offended,” isn’t an “I’m sorry you’re upset” apology, it’s an “I’m sorry I upset you” apology. It would be a non-apology if it were “he is sorry to anyone who is offended.”

I strongly disagree. I bought a car a couple months ago and got quotes from all the big names. I ended up going with GEICO because they offered me really thorough coverage for about $900/year. Comparable plans from other companies were in the $1100-1300 range, while Nationwide offered me waaaay less coverage than

Sometimes those perks can carry over. My GEICO coverage has a “Continuous Insurance Discount” and a hefty “Good Driver Discount” even though before this policy, I was on my parents’ policy with a completely different company for 8 years.

I second this. My GEICO quote was waaaay less than everyone else’s.

You might wonder why insurance companies are overcharging you. According to Gabi founder, Dr. Hanno Fichtner, it’s because they can.

immediately sell both borrowed cars and replace them with a single ten-year-old manual transmission hatchback, and finally, let the good times roll. Setting aside $10k to keep the new car on the road

The people who have bad credit usually have less money so let’s make them pay more than the people with good credit who have more money.

“Until Apple addresses the issue of battery life?” Are you serious? iOS devices have by far the longest battery life on the market. If you think you’re not getting good battery life, go to the battery menu in settings and look at how long each app has been open on your screen in the past 24 hours while on battery

That was my thought. I don’t recall ever being specifically TAUGHT a way to turn, I think I just sometimes naturally do the hand over hand turn, and all the times I do it are usually when I’m going slow, e.g. tight turns in a parking lot, backing into a parking space, etc.

I’m a freelancer who currently has a contract with a startup that’s doing something really unique and I honestly don’t know how to explain what I do in less than two minutes. So my go to response is just “I’m a freelance writer.”

Jesus Christ read the goddamn article you linked. Apple isn’t planning to just use the camera for facial recognition, they’re planning to map the face in 3D using infrared. Do you think a photo will stand up to 3D infrared mapping? Oh, you mean a photo will have no features according to a 3D mapping? Crazy how that

This varies wildly between elevators. The elevators in my office building are old enough to not have motion sensors, and the buttons close the door. It drives me insane when someone gets on, sees that they’re going to the same floor as me, and then does nothing. If you don’t press any buttons, the doors close after 15

Yeah, I agree that this is kind of a weird one. Buying the cheapest possible blades will cost you ten bucks, but you can still get Bosch or Rain-X blades that are high quality or last a long time for $20. So sure, they cost twice as much, but when the starting price is $10, that’s not a huge difference.

Probably for the same reason that vacuum cleaners can be made to be extremely quiet (see vacuums intended for use in commercial settings like hotels), but most consumer vacuums are still extremely loud. “If it’s loud, that’s how you know it’s powerful!”
