I really liked the first Monsters for dealing with the low level "how would the world really react to aliens" thing... The bit where they were in the family home and the kids just were being kids, but with gas masks, was really good.

Well, they could have Janet be the one who suggested the Avengers Project to SHIELD... so at least she still gets credit for creating the Avengers...

One problem I have always had with the Extended Universe is just how many times the Main Characters show up. Every story does not have to be about them!!! It really gets boring running into them everywhere (which is one reason I like reading the Old Republic stories).

I like to think of them as Disney-fied Greek Myths... vaguely based on the real myths, but cleaned up nicely to make them more approachable and sellable to kids.

I would hesitate to use the term "pedophile" for 16 year olds... That is the same kind of thinking that leads to a 16 year old couple to end up on sex-offender lists for taking nude photos of each other.
