I don’t know, I’ve had some friends who have worked in theaters. According to them it’s quite common, especially for Adam Sandler films.
I think part of it is the pricing: I’ve noticed that a lot of e-books are a few dollars more than their paperback versions. I’ve also noticed amongst friends that paperbacks are more popular since they’re easier to lend to other people.
Asking for your money back from a cinema where you walked out of the movie before it ended? Much more common/normal than attempting to write to a studio to get your money back.
As long as there isn’t a new scene where the stranded astronaut discovers the corpse of a long dead alien I’m prepared to enjoy the Martian.
You’re well within your rights to ask for your money back from a movie you don’t like. It’s basically like them providing you a defective product.
You know it will. It’s like he just can’t help himself.
The first Prometheus films was one of only a couple where I marched out before the end and demanded my money back from the cinema (which I got). I don’t have any hope for this sequel, I really don’t believe it deserved one. The plot was nonsensical, the people didn’t act like actual humans, the scientists weren’t very…

Honestly? I found it kind of “meh” as a movie.
I wish there was some sort of legal way to hold corporations like this responsible for their actions. Maybe the most that would happen is that they get charged an inconsequential fine that is nothing compared to their yearly profits...
Does anyone else think at this point directors are just plain scared to give Johnny Depp actual criticism and direction? The last few movies I’ve seen him in he’s really seemed to have phoned in his performances.
Can the Doctor just go back to the ice planet he abandoned the Meddling Monk on so many years ago and pick him as a companion?
Thank you grizzled voice actor! I will follow yout implicit instructions and I will definitely not buy Tomorrowland on bluray or DVD!
Healthy diet followed by robot body, followed by surviving upcoming dark ages, followed by surviving encountering alien species, but most of all followed by resisisting the all encompassing boredom that will eventually haunt my age-riddled mind.
Man, mammals are so lazy!
