Left Hand also makes Wake Up Dead, which is an excellent Imperial stout. Then their winter seasonal is one of the Fade to Black series - one year it was a chili stout - those can be hit or miss - but they do a great job with the darker beers.

Here in Colorado NB is a the fall back brewery - solid beers, but generally nothing to get too excited about - except their Lips of Faith series and the La Follie. Some of their more seasonal beers are exceptional as well - like the Tartastic which is a lemon/ginger sour - not usually my thing but it's not puckering…

I was reminded of how awesome they can be while listening to my local public radio station and they played "The Saddest Story Ever Told" - a pre-69 Love Songs, but still a great album (The Wayward Bus).

Small Town Heroes has stayed on my iPod through the purges and I still smile every time any of the songs come on.

I just listened to this the other day and "Life is a Long Time" is perhaps my favorite song of theirs. And "To Tundra" and "Hate for the Island" are amazing as well. I don't get that people don't like it, but prefer the others.
