I respect both the well written column response to the question and those who believe that not sharing the knowledge with the wife is the best way to go. I understand it, but I strongly disagree with it.

I am posting this to amend my last one, which it is now too late to edit. When I originally posted, I misread the article as saying that the injury was the reason for the departure. Reading it more carefully, I now understand that everyone is saying the injury is NOT the reason (that will teach me to post before there…
What a shame. It took me a few episodes to get into Batwoman-I thought the first bit was pretty rough. But the show has really grown on me, Ms. Rose has gotten better and better as the title character, and it has become my favorite non-Legends show currently airing in the Arrowverse.
1.Gene following up Die Hard the musical with Departed the musical is an amazing idea. Like Gene with Die Hard, I kept asking myself throughout Departed: “Why isn’t anyone singing? Why isn’t anyone dancing.?!”
After hearing this news, my inner high school freshman will not stop screaming.
I agree with you, but if I recall correctly there is one Bojack episode where she drags the Emmy around with her, so that is something!
Don’t Kevin’s parents have to be on this list somewhere for leaving their child to starve to death or be killed by criminals while they jet off to Europe? I know they are not overtly evil and didn’t do it on purpose, but this seems like a pretty unforgivable oversight. One that is not really cured because the…
Good Morning,
1.I am looking forward to watching this.
My absolute favorite aggressive Tina episode is Hurt Soccer.
Eeeeeeeeeeeaaaagggggleeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!
Your reply brought me back to this interesting article, so thanks for that!
This is a fantastic and apt reference, and I salute you!
I know mileage varies, and I have nothing but respect for differing opinions. But for the reasons Zack has been raising and some others, here is the basic truth for me:
I would have been happy with either a more nostalgic trip with plenty of TNG fan service or a story of a changed, traumatized Picard struggling to get his life back with the help of richly drawn characters and story arcs.
No one would ever go back to that planet, not even to save themselves or their dearest family. It is just too painfully silly and boring there.
It cleared up for me that you continue to miss my point, which is that Jeri Ryan being a regular cast member and them rushing her story with a knowledge of Voyager substituting for character development were not the only two avenues forward that the Picard team had at their disposal to advance this story.
I answered this in my very first post:
I am well aware that she is not a member of the main cast of Picard. She had an arc in this episode, which is what we are discussing. It worked for you, for all the reasons you described, which is great.
But.....the question isn’t about what we think her availability or shooting schedule might be. The question is: did the way they told this story work for you? If it did, I am truly glad you enjoyed it. It didn’t work for me, and apparently a few others.
