"How can you be so obtuse?"

This is one of my top ten Simpsons episodes of all time. My favorite gag belongs to Chief Wiggum and his attempts to worm his way back into the group:

My 5th grade son found my copy of School is Hell and has been reading and laughing constantly no matter how many times I take it away from him. The other day he got in a little trouble at school for quoting some parts of it to his friends.

Justified is always taken for granted nationally (and lately on AV Club) but it has been one of the best shows on television for five seasons. I know a lot of people did not take to season five; while I agree it was not their strongest, it was still better than most other TV. I wish this great show would get the props

The hard working folks at Big Belly Burger are heartbroken that you have not recognized their contributions in this regard.

This is a really good point-I do think that Nyssa probably had a hand in talking her father into acting. I also think that Oliver poked the bear when he vowed to protect Merlyn from the League. Ras may have been willing to let matters lie before, but I believe that he could not ignore a direct challenge to the League.

I think that Merlyn was waiting for the League to apply pressure in the pursuit of Sara's killer before pulling his trump card. Oliver may have had time and space to think of another solution if he wasn't facing down a deadline from the league. I think he was waiting for the league to do something like they did-"you

Paging through the comments, I am surprised by how many believe that it would be a strong story choice to have Thea kill Sara on her own initiative. I mean no offense-everyone is entitled to their opinion. But it seems to me that brutal murder of an old friend for no reason would be way out of character for Thea after

I just finished re-watching the series again, and I continue to believe that Deadwood is the best television series of all time. Mr. VanDerwerff did an excellent job with these reviews/recaps. Further, I agree with him completely about "Tell Him Something Pretty" being the perfect ending for this show on a thematic

This is a great review of one of my all time favorite episodes. My only small quibble is that the best bit-"maybe single people eat crackers"-is relegated to the stray observations! I love that sequence-like a lot of the episode, sad but hilarious at the same time.

Agree with bringing back the Steven Universe coverage. While we are at it, can we have Regular Show back too?

The "plethora" thing is a long running joke in my family. Every time there is a lot of something someone recites this. I just saw my brother for the first time in a few years (he lives out of the country), and this must have come up ten times during the visit. We are both in our mid-thirties so you'd think this would

I just finished watching this and liked it, so I am surprised by the lukewarm review. It is not a fantastic show, but as many have already said it really makes strides in the second half. The jokes are better, and so is the story.

I think that Deadwood is the best television show of all time. Justified is the most entertaining show on TV right now. If Graham Yost finds a way to get Ian McShane on this show during the last season I will gleefully watch the episode a hundred times. Then I will turn off the television forever, as I will have seen

One of the most difficult tasks I have ever faced in my 15 year marriage was trying to explain to my wife why she had to start watching this show called Sleepy Hollow with me a few episodes into last season. "Honey-the highlight of the pilot is the Headless Horseman shooting stuff with a machine gun. But it works, I

Did Frakes ever get his Shamrock Shake? Sometimes McDonalds has those year round you know……

I just finished a full re-watch of DS9 (every episode in seasons 1-7; I even gritted my teeth through "Profit and Lace"), and I have to say: Deep Space Nine is the highest quality Trek show. The acting, the stories, the inter-play between the characters are all top notch. There were a few missteps with the Pa Wraiths

I liked the mini-series, but 33 is when I knew the modern BSG was going to be special. The attack every 33 minutes was a great device to explore these characters and the horror of their situation. Such a tense episode throughout.

I really liked this episode.

Good episode.
