I can count on one hand the number of times I’ve seen an empty seat on a plane in the last fifteen years.

Same with phones. When I decide to buy a new phone I wait until the newest model comes out and buy the previous newest model.

The thing you neglect to mention is that AppleCare also extends the full warranty to two years. In my experience, something always goes wrong on iPhones (lock button stops working is a classic) between one and two years. And yes, your criticism of Apple is valid here but, it is what it is once you’ve decided to go…
