A curb hit like that could easily bend strut towers and other suspension pickup points on the chassis, destroy shocks, ball joints, tie rods, control arms, etc. That car will probably never be right again. A bent wheel is probably the least of it.

Carbon Fiber composites can be pretty conductive. Usually there are also aluminum/magnesium/$$$alloy hardpoints laid up into the monocoque for mounting other structural assemblies. One of the things that I wonder how they address is galvanic corrosion with dissimilar metals.
