I never had a problem with Mammy Two Shoes (as I believed she was called). The way I saw it she owned her own house and bossed around the protagonist to sort out the mouse problem.

I suppose it could depend on which era of Spider-Man you grew up with. As kid of the 80's my exposure to Spidey came from his solo cartoon series from 1981 and classic (IMO) “...and his Amazing Friends” series.

I’d forgotten that scene, you’re right he’s good in that bit.

And beyond that I think Cavill is very charming when the movie lets him be.

My only issue with Routh is that I felt he was doing a brilliant impression of Christopher Reeves playing Superman. As opposed to actually playing Superman.
