I really him liked in The 4400, which outdid Heroes on the super powers drama front by having more than one decent season.

I thought Planet of the Apes was to blame for the merchandising spin offs that are so prevalent in Hollywood.

I overlook the iffy SFX (especially for Scorpion King in the second one - sheesh) as the first two films are good fun romps.
