Granted he never took off like Storm did, but then sadly only a handful of Marvel's black superheroes did (tbf there were only slightly more than a handful before Marvel's recent drive for diversity).

They were lamely killed off in CW just to create some dramatic plot points. Both Night Thrasher and Giant Man returned as characters after CW, just not as the original people who had the codename.

A tally of Marvel's black superheroes at the time of Civil War would include them, with Night Thrasher pretty high up.
