Eh, I can crank up "You" or "Cover Me" and not feel bad about it. It's not great but it gets the job done.
I wasn't trying to lump them in with any other band, exactly. I just thought it strange to see a lot of people liking them. Maybe that has to do with my take on them. They were pop, as far as I was concerned. Over-produced, manufactured pop. Hey Jealousy is a lousy earworm of a song that seemed to be tailor made for…
Yeah, the "range" wasn't really the impressive thing about Cornell's voice. It was the distinct sound, the way he could modulate subtly and the sheer volume of it. He could basically be at shouting volume but still maintaining a "singing" voice.
There's a couple good Candlebox songs. I don't think anybody would confuse them with being genre defining artists, but I've never found them offensively bad.
The oil really should prevent the oxidation process, though.
Heard that for the first time today. Was absolutely floored by it.
The first album is solid. The second album I didn't like at all on first listen. But a few of the songs I've come around on over the years ("Doesn't Remind Me" and "Be Yourself" in particular). If you take away the expectations that come with "OMG! Chris Cornell and Rage!!" it's some pretty solid music. I don't think…
What does the ratio of "head up own ass but still amazingly talented" have to be to attain rock stardom? He may be on the other side of it.

Set It Off is friggin' great, too.
Growing up in the late 90's, Soundgarden was one of those bands that were just sort of… around. And like Nirvana and Pearl Jam and Alice in Chains, I liked their music but never sought them out or bought any albums. It was only recently that I'd started hearing more from their catalog and realized I'd been missing…
Her supporting bit in Eternal Sunshine is what won me over.
Not being familiar with the source material and only having played the second two games, I thought the VA worked for the character. They make frequent mentions that the witcher process is supposed to strip people of their emotions. So it would follow that he'd sound flat and emotionless much of the time.
Ferrous-bending.
Ugh… *sexy voice* or sploo-
AH-keer-uh
Call me squeamish, but I DO NOT want to see Tetsuo's transformation rendered "realistically".
I actually don't mind the movie with the exception of Snyders irritating stylistic touches (there are other colors than blue and WHY IS THERE SLOW MOTION RIGHT NOW!!). I (think) I understood the gist of the original story. But I did have to defer to someone who had read the book to figure out whether or not people…
