OK, just checking. I haven't seen either of the other two. I keep hearing good things so I suppose I should get around to them eventually.

Saw the trailer at the showing of Logan with a friend. He's never seen the original '95 movie and I explained my reservations about this film thusly:

I'm going to second what Agent Dale said regarding Ghost in the Shell being comparable to Blade Runner. With the caveat that I think GiTS is better than Blade Runner. I don't know if I watched the wrong cut of that movie or what, but I really don't understand why it's so revered.

There's a lot of things I'd rather do than watch Grave of the Fire Flies again. Like contemplate my own mortality and the futility of life. It'd be less depressing.

What were those movies? If you say Lucy, be aware that we are going to fight. That movie sucked. Like, a lot.

Sorry. It was just the first thing that came to mind. Whatever helps you get through the day and the people around you not get yelled at/screamed at/pelted with stuff.

Maybe you're just an ass?

"I'm going to get heavily into model trains."

From my experience of watching weed users* (I don't partake), weed is a "What time is it? Oh, it's weed time" sort of drug. Any occasion, any situation.

It was a good story but, yeah, complete hard stop/anchor down/brick wall scenario for the main narrative.

I think I read the first two. The librarian at my middle school saw me reading the Redwall books and suggested it because they both had talking animals (no joke).

I had no idea it was supposed to be out this year. Let alone as early as July. I hadn't even heard that they were filming yet. Seems like it wasn't that long ago everybody was losing their shit over the Elba casting.

That's very different from the US book art. I have a hardback copy of The Dark Tower and it shows it as just a tall, round tower. Basically a giant rook piece from a chess board.

Those turtles are everywhere if you re-watch with an eye out for them, though. I think I remember them coming up in conversation once or twice but the symbolism is on all sorts of art and architecture.

Sort of. The finale, while visually impressive and grand in scale, was a bit of hot mess thematically speaking. There was kind of a lot of "Oh, I guess that's a thing" happening in that episode. But I agree the second season gets maligned more than it should. Especially once they clean up the animation at the half-way

Lift 800lbs how? Deadlifting 800lbs is incredibly rare (and impressive, if that's your thing) but it's hardly super human.

Is it available online somewhere? (Netflix, Amazon, etc.)

I'm not happy with this on PC. I can't see anyone's avatar and if I click on the "New Comment Above/Below" button it makes a jump but doesn't take me to the comment. This sucks.

In the automotive repair industry, unnecessary changes that result in things sucking are usually met with, "Well, I guess the engineers had to find a way to justify their jobs, again."

I am also an older MIllenial. I like the look. I've worked with a couple of older guys (45+) who were OG punk/skateboard dudes and they rock the same look and have for years. They called it the German factory worker cut. They're also definitely not Nazis. Unfortunately (or fortunately, depending on your position) I am
