And now Beto has spoken:
The definition of “close” is a race where a a small number of voters can change the outcome so, yeah, she might have. Shes only the most famous person on the planet AND shes from 3rd Ward.
I agree that she could have done this earlier but tbh Beyonce wasn’t going to mean the difference between Ted or Beto winning.
Or like, when people can still register. Why even bother now?
This is pure magic but I really wish she posted these like, yesterday. I don’t know if there’s enough time left and I’m so scared he’s not going to win.
Cool. Maybe next time try tweeting support BEFORE the voting starts.
I don’t know that I entirely agree with this assessment of what happened. It was made very clear in the film that that was not Jackson’s first try at suicide, and that he had been battling suicidal depression since his early teens. The manager was harsh (but everything he said was true), but I think it’s just as toxic…
I lost a family member to suicide and came out of this movie feeling for people like yourself. I did OK with it, but know others who wouldn’t. And you don’t think to Google every movie for “does anyone commit suicide?”
I think the warning system can and should be better calibrated, in general. For example, a “graphic sexual content” warning does me absolutely no good, because enthusiastic sex between two consenting partners, which is displayed without a sense of pearl-clutching prudishness is given that label, while a violent rape…
Eh, I didn’t have that much a problem with Jackson’s brother telling Jackson’s wife that no one was to blame except Jackson because a) he’d lived though all of the previous depressions/times way longer than she had and b) no one knew about the manager.
True story: because of various life experiences I’ve had with family members, I don’t like to consume media that involves depictions/discussions of suicide. For instance, I love musicals, but I’m not going to see Dear Evan Hansen, because I know suicide is a big part of the storyline.
Small point, but the 1954 version is also a remake of the original, which was made in 1937.
Someone posted on my Facebook that it was like waiting on a group project grade- I know I did my shit right, so I’m just sitting here hoping everyone else did their fucking part.
Yep, when Twisted Sister doesn’t even want the publicity, you know things are bad.
I think Trump and his staff intentionally uses music by artists who oppose him and his policies just to piss these artists and their fans off. For Trump - there is no such thing as bad publicity and it proves he can do anything he wants without consequences. He loves getting under people’s skin and most of his base…
It seems like they are doing it on purpose at this point, going out of their way to play music by artists they know are anti-Trump, so they can then then play the never-ending victim card that they are being bullied by the Hollywood leftist elite or what have you.
This reminds me recently of a Seth Rogen appearance on Stephen Colbert - he said Paul Ryan’s kids came up and asked him for a photo and he said no. And he was like, “I felt kinda bad, but at the same time they should know that if they like a movie or a song, the person who made that probably doesn’t like their dad…
She claimed to be the first plus sized woman to be the star of a rom com. That was not in any way true. Shove your sarcasm. Black people have a right to fight against their erasure. You sound more like a right-wing troll than someone making an honest comment.
I like them both, but I think Ariana is being petty as shit. Pete is a comedian and all of the jokes he’s made after the breakup have been at HIS expense. She has vastttlllyyy more power than he has yet she continues to go after him. Releasing a song right before SNL, even if it doesn’t include anything bad about him,…
I could not get through the 4th paragraph. The italics and the fuckin middle school writing.
