I meant it’s more weird the first time you learn that. I had never in my life heard that until my wife started a master’s program in plannning. Then it makes a lot of sense.

And what’s sad is that it’s a place that transportation could be done so right. With more and more people moving back into downtown and it’s extrimities (Irondale, Avondale, etc.), I think you’ll eventually see a more cohesive transit plan. If nothing else, the Rotary Trail is supposed to be connecting to other network…
Yeah, I guess I meant it’s more weird the first time you learn it. I didn’t know any of that until my wife went for a master’s degree in planning.
Yeah, I’m originally from Gadsden but went to college at UAB. You are, unfortunately, very correct. The good news is that despite the highways, the city is at least moving forward with some other New Urbanist-ish concepts. It’s so much nicer of a place than it was just when I showed up there in 2008.
This isn’t a call to destroy all of the highways in the country. The point is to eliminate them needlessly passing right through the hearts of downtowns (looking at you 20/59 currently being completely reconstructed through Birmingham, AL) which creates physical and, weirdly enough, often economic barriers which divide…
Oh, you can do a lot better than that...
Yup, the one in the video is a tubo kitted 2-stroke.
I’m gonna agree with Arnold here and say I’d be shocked to see $200k. Although when Supras can sell for $185k...who knows what’s possible.
Yeah, good point. I would think the insurance was at least that. Heck, if we’re super generous and call it $500 (maybe he get a package deal for all of those cars) that’s still another $12,500.
It’s got to get to $126,571 just to break even on inflation...
I gave a more full response above, but my rebuttal half agrees with you. Yes, people are willing to spend that for one of these. No, that doesn’t make the price reasonable.
But I still don’t know if that makes it “reasonable.” I would even agree that you could say that’s what they’re “worth” since the market will clearly pay that. But $30-40k for a relatively common 25+ year old car with a 20+ year old engine (S52) swapped in, doesn’t exactly seem reasonable to me.
I don’t think that’s what it means at all. “Somebody is likely to pay it” would just be P(rice). NP means is this a reasonable price for the car being offered (it’s not).
Besides that I’ve heard he almost caused an accident between the two of them in the turn just before the straight.
Whoa, whoa, whoa. Where in SC? Because they need to come eat lunch with us at Michelin in an hour.
The entire season’s margin of victory for 2017 was less than 5 second.....
You do you my friend!
Like, this specifically..? Because that’s more than a little weird don’t you think?
This is a shame to hear. That’s supposedly part of the reason Honda lost Rossi to Yamaha years ago; he felt very shackled by all of the promotional expectations.
I will definitely agree that there’s a certain level of dedication you have to have to get there. You have to make it to about the 5th episode before it makes any sense at all.
