Yes unions drive up wages, but at what cost? Employee productivity. Unions only favor the incompetent members and the Union executives. Better employees are locked into standardized pay raises and advancement ladders thus removing the incentive to be a better employee than the person next to you.

You fail to point to the fact that many, many local unions are run by people who are corrupt as fuck, looking for as much money and power as they can get (and who don’t give a shit if the workers gain or lose), and no one wants to be associated with them
