For my money, Bucky would have been the more interesting choice as he has something to atone for, and becoming Cap gives him a fresh start (even if Bucky probably feels he doesn’t deserve it). Sam doesn’t need a fresh start - he’s already The Falcon and that’s awesome.

. . . 40-something adults who go to five movies a year. . .

I’m wondering if she’s actually a Romulan. If Picard was involved in some sort of heroic evacuation of Romulus, her seeming awe would make sense. . .

Also. . .

Unfortunately, there is nothing extraterrestrial to see at Area 51. As a cartoon I saw (but can’t find at the moment) pointed out, if there were space monster remains in the government’s possession, there’s no WAY President Twitter could keep his big yap shut about it. Ergo, no ETs.

Seconded. A few whoppers in the narrative (Welles never attended parties at San Simeon!), but very enjoyable and generally accurate. Melanie Griffiths is surprisingly good as Marion Davies; Malkovitch is a terrific Mank.

But all of the folks you mentioned went by the one name from the start of their career. I doubt Zendaya will equal any of those folks’ successes, but they were just as “not noteworthy” when the hubris struck.

tl;dr version

Respectfully disagree. Whatever worked in the film, it was the Batsuited stuff. Affleck’s Wayne used the same growly voice, walked around like he was flexing at all times, and stood out in crowds like a deeply serious guy with an agenda, not an aimless playboy.

[Nevermind that the script had him actually banging

You almost had it. . . so close. ; )

NYPD BLUE started after FENCES was underway. It’s first year lost to FENCES repeat win, and then it won Outstanding Dramatic Series for the first Smits season the next year (I got my years wrong above, apologies).

All due respect to the comedy shows folks are mentioning, I think those are apples to PICKETT FENCES orange

PICKET FENCES won back-to-back Outstanding Drama Series Emmys in 1994/1995, so it was certainly a contender. What shows in this period would you say are “a lot better”?

I watched the Downey/Holland one, and enjoyed the roundtable stuff quite a lot. But the chef stuff is not my cuppa - I may not be back, if this is the typical food/showbiz ratio.

I loved DINNER FOR FIVE, so I’m hoping for good things from this show.

I agree with all of this,

Streaming/on demand was and is a superior replacement for all other forms of movie rental, so it’s no surprise that it supplanted Blockbuster/Redbox/Netflix discs. But for movies I want to own, I’m sticking with physical media.

(spoilers)

As unsubtle as this show could be (even at its best),  I’m shocked the creators had the restraint to NOT have someone call Jon “Queenslayer” at some point in the hour.

CM2: TO HELA AND BACK

It seemed to me that Vision could lift Mjolnir just then because he was literally five minutes old and a true innocent. In my head-canon, that “worthiness” doesn’t last long - it’s certainly gone by CIVIL WAR.
