They smothered a potentially great Sofia Boutella monster movie. Take out the big names and their salaries (and the beard love interest), give Boutella the anti-hero redemption arc and have Dracula (from “Untold”) show up and do the Russel Crowe intervention stuff.

Rutger Hauer was a feature of my childhood in the VHS era. I don’t know how much pocket money I spent renting his movies but it was a lot. I especially liked it when they were futuristic or sci-fi.

It’s kind of impressive that they somehow fucked up a film starring Tessa Thompson, Chris Hemsworth, Liam Neeson, Emma Thompson and my actual, definitely for real girlfriend, Rebecca Ferguson.
