"I was in a band for seven years. It was a death metal band. People either loved us or they hated us. Or they thought we were okay."
I have no strong opinion on McCartney… I thought I already said that?
I mean, I didn't go that far. I just looked at the list and didn't see any that I recognize as liking.
Um, have you never heard Wonderful Chrismastime?
I'm overall indifferent to Paul. But I did just look over the Wikipedia list of songs he wrote and recognized none that I like. And he's recorded a song so bad and inescapable I can't really like him.
Beatles are fine. I just checked, and Paul didn't write any songs I like.
No, it truly is not.
Oh, dear. You think putting a song in a musical would make me like it more.
*shrug* At least you didn't try to tell me how cool Freddie Mercury was, like that would make me like his band's shit music.
That just reads as "bloodlust".
Which one???
I think I really dislike their melodies. At least this helped me realize that. Queen is one of a few unquestioned cultural touchstones that I can't stand for a second. Possibly the one I get the most shit for.
I tried it. Didn't like it. It's only slightly less annoying than all their other songs.
But they taste the best!
Like they know what any of those words actually mean. (Except African-born, I guess. Just by coincidence.)
*whines like picky child being offered brussels sprouts*
Unfortunately I have given Queen far too many chances and cannot take the risk that another awful awful thing will be stuck in my head
Plenty of Alt-Righters probably love Queen, homie.
I agree with everything in your post. Brian May sounds unique (strictly speaking about timbre or "tone"), yes, but also horrible and his songs are horrible.
