He clearly went out of his way to try and ruin her job. I work at North Carolina State University. Recently, there was a violent movie playing on on of the televisions in the gym, probably because they had turned to that channel earlier and just left it there (which is similar to using a Spotify playlist). I asked the

Got it... so enormous income inequality is fine because poor people are better off than they were 60 years ago. There are many points in history where strong Unions and better social programs did not absolutely destroy the economy, including many modern societies in Europe (not just Germany). You are completely

There is a lot of nonsense here that trusts that corporations are just a really nice and honorable group of folks that are going do right by the working class and everyone is going to benefit from it.

I asked these same questions before the election: Don’t these people realize these policies affect them too? And everyone they care about? WTF?

You would think so wouldn’t you? Alas, the GOP has been selling this same shit since Reagan was President (in a crazy bit of irony, union busting Ronny is being inducted into the Dept. Labor Hall of Fame next month) which is: let’s go back to the 50's when you could safely discriminate against women and minorities,

Yeah, with the Kochs and Sheldon Adelson owning the government, you go right ahead and depend on the government to protect your sorry, stupid ass. Why do you think there are “government protections, anyways? Out of the goodness of their hearts? Jeebus...

Well, that’s obvious, but you would assume they would wake up to the reality of the situation at some point. Again, I don’t think most of these people are dumb, but it’s just amazing that the brain can become so certain of something that it dismisses all evid nice to th contrary

Now they exist to protect bad workers and artificially drive up costs.

Hate to come here and be “that guy”, but the answer is pretty obvious: lower middle-class and blue collar white workers vote for the low-key, dog whistle racism of the GOP over their own economic interests.

There are a lot of ways different people buy it, but it’s not all conscious. People can be controlled via fear very effectively. Fear of being outcast by your community (read: Church). Fear of public shame for accepting help (read: handouts) or loving someone that others don’t accept (read: gay, black, foreign).

It is astounding beyond belief how the GOP got the working classes to enthusiastically support elected official and policies that openly bragged how they were going to drastically lower their standard of living so the rich could have more.

How Trump voters can simultaneously bitch about unions and lament the disappearance of well-paying jobs that only existed due to those same unions never ceases to both amaze and depress me.
