Maybe it’s just the car in general... because my subie impreza of the same vintage/color combo has the exact same problem. It’s awful right around those areas on ALL of the doors. I do not have long fingernails, nor do I crush into the paint each time I leverage the door handle - maybe subaru just doesn’t know how to…

Not sure if any of their customers will decide on “this evolution” as the one they decide to purchase if that’s what they’re in store for.
