Me, to my 10-year-old: Hey, the World Series is on!

I saw a commercial for Google the other night. Now, when you’re viewing a recipe on a device, you can ask Google to turn it back on if it shuts off ... instead of touching the device with your ingredient-covered hands. I told my wife, “Wow, they’ve really done it now ... disrupted the kitchen hand towel.”

If you like watching people surf, check out Take Every Wave — new documentary about big-wave surfer Laird Hamilton. (There’s actually a decent bit of “drama” too.)

I guess the tongue-in-cheek nature of my reaction didn’t come across in my actual comment. I’ll try to do better next time.

Nah, just prefer the women’s game is all. Probably because of having two daughters that play.

Serious, though probably dumb question ... does the U.S. women’s team have more success because the best female athletes don’t have (American) football as an option to focus on?

I know it’s a great visual, but seriously ... Holland _fourth tier_ men’s team and no coverage of women’s pro (NWSL) semi-finals? Don’t make me tell the Jezzies :)

San Diego State Aztecs, 5-0. Los Angeles Chargers, 0-4. Take that, Spanos.

What about DDO?

Sigh. One of the most exciting players I ever saw. Of course, he was a San Diego Charger, so he was let go by the team with years still left in the tank.

I think that’s what a lot of us in the SD area are hoping for, and I believe they’d be welcomed back if owned by Anyone. But. Dean. #freethechargers

Yeah, in days of yore, it seemed like owners didn’t buy franchises to make money. They bought teams because they already had more money than they could possibly spend, and wanted to be loved by the populace.

Came here for this, thx

Maybe the L.A. Flames would be a good idea! If L.A. has room for two successful, beloved NFL teams ... oh, wait ...

Thx for this. To me, basebrawls are the funniest fights in all of sports, and the bullpen sprint the most hilarious aspect.

My parents were both EMU grads. EMU’s athletic teams were called the “Hurons” after the Huron Native American tribe, but the university changed it to the “Eagles” to be PC ... even though the Huron tribe wanted them to keep the Hurons nickname.

This exchange is great Kinja.

But did she enjoy it? :)

I thought the same thing about “off the record” ... well, genius, you just put it ON the record!

Chargers gonna Charger.
