Haha geographically it’s close ... culturally not as much. Whole other kinda attitude in L.A. than in S.D. (for better and worse).

You are absolutely correct. But, it was still going to be a tax on members of the public to fund a private enterprise. And it would put the screws to people who live in SD any time they wanted to stay a night or two downtown or by the beach.

Proud of my city. I have some great Chargers-related memories, but good riddance to the Spanos family.

Marmalard? :)

Is this my fellow Lions fan? Never saw that loss coming last weekend, did we? :)

Darren Sproles, yep, a great example of why it sucks to be a Chargers fan. He was amazing to watch; good thing the Chargers’ (shit-for-) brain(s) trust didn’t think he was worth holding on to.

It is in my house.

I’ll be more proud of my city if they let the Chargers walk than I ever have been as a result of the Chargers’ actual play.

Haha ok cool I knew I’d find a Hulkster joke here

Nice. I was waiting for a Hulkster joke :)

Well, that’s the one thing about the Chargers is, they don’t really need a fanbase of their own, so long as they have out-of-towners (or local fans of the opposing teams) to fill (half?) the seats :)

And just think ... if Dean Spanos decides to be Stan’s bitch, it’ll be even emptier every other Sunday.

Mine’s more about me acting uncool in front of a celebrity :) Two months after the US Women’s Soccer Team had won the World Cup, I’m standing in the Philly airport in the lost luggage line. Right behind me was Carli Lloyd. I recognized her and went all middle-aged fanboy on her. She was super nice even though I could

Was that in San Diego? Rolling Stones killing it at an SD stadium show in the (unusual) heavy rain is rock-and-roll legend in these parts (I wasn’t there myself).

Is Jen OK?

A quick Google search indicates that the Corolla ad “resonates” very well with Millennials ... shocking.

(Soccer newbie here with non-snark questions ...)

V. nice

Deadspin mention of Pete Carroll ... aaaaand here come the “truther” comments. As predictable as seeing the “_____less in Seattle” headline once a year in the San Diego newspaper when the Chargers and Seahawks were in the same division. (Chargers win: “Flawless in Seattle” ... Seahawks win: “Helpless in Seattle” and
