Point taken.

That's right, Chess and Tetris immediately come to mind. Pinball has been here since early last century, it's not going away.

Would having a story line and compelling characters help the genre cements its status as a sport, though?

After playing the Williams Collection no other pinball game can satisfy me. Knowing that The Pinball Arcade comes out on XBLA/PSN until the end of march is heartbreaking. Unfortunately my disc broke and I no longer can play it to tide me over until release.

What does all that have to do with the article? It's about pinball and its legitimacy as a sport. Sports games don't need stories.

Found the article:

Quite the contrary to me, if I enjoy the battle system in the demo I'll surely enjoy the full game. Perhaps that's why I enjoyed XIII, it was all about the battle system, there was something satisfying about pushing the X button in Autobattle.

Didn't Wada or Nomura said they took inspiration in the Call of Duty series (which Square-Enix publishes in Japan) while making FFXIII?

Whoa, the "5 years in the making" Bejeweled Twist didn't catch on I guess. It's the only Bejeweled I got addicted to and I would double dip if it came out on XBLA. Deactivating bombs was a rush!

I don't get it. Now you've made me curious. (goes to google)

Next-Gen consoles looking like current-gen PCs confirmed.

By that criteria to me it would have to be Marvel VS Capcom 3 and Ultimate Marvel VS Capcom 3. But I love Deus Ex HR and I'm happy it's being recognized at least somewhere.

1080p as a standard is a must for next-gen, most TVs on sale out now are native 1080p and it's very rare to find one that's not, native resolution is always better looking than non-native.

I need this in my life!

I can see where you're coming from. In racing games like Forza 4 I turn off the racing music to take in the raw engine sounds, Turn 10 really overdid themselves with the sound effects there.

Some of the music reminded me of Tron: Legacy, the glowy black/gold atmosphere was part of this too, now imagine what those guys could do with the Tron franchise...

I'm like your polar opposite. Videogames to me are a musical experience. The games I enjoy the most are the ones that are accompanied with a great soundtrack: The Ys Series, Final Fantasy XIII, Castlevania: Symphony of the Night just to mention a few.

Even if it's ripped off from Ninja Gaiden (and that's an assumption) it's Platinum Games we're talking about here, and they make great action games.

It's not an overmarketed AAA game, it doesn't deserve any attention.

Looking nothing like the first trailer is a good thing! Gone is the slow and clunky movement and awkward sword fighting (though it is still keeping the "cut everything" moves). Enlisting the help of the makers of the current best stylish-action game is a good move on Kojipro's part.
