For the record, The Island is actually one of his good films. I thoroughly enjoyed it even if some parts are sketchy (falling off a skyscraper billboard and landing perfectly). The concept and story are great and I am surprised it grossed so poorly.

I watched that video and he proves that he can stay in the room for an extended period of time without any issues. He didnt go crazy from the silent experience.
