Typically because you can better convey the magnitude of something by using a common and familiar unit.

Really? Banks have been shown to have broken the law and engaged in predatory practices multiple times but still get bailouts. You can’t discharge your student loans through bankruptcy or any other means, except death. So, I think that’s a pretty sure bet for the federal government.

They’re held to a very high standard! But we can also come up with billions of dollars to keep them afloat if they fuck up!

I agree, except for the “outbid” part. It’s not like there’s a huge boom of poor/working class home buying as it is.

Ahh yes, the really privileged people are the ones who owe money for college. Nice try, Mr. Great lakes.

So since we’re not talking about a lot of money then why not just pass student loan cancellation? If equity is the main concern, why not eliminate the mortgage deduction? Only some lucky, privileged people get to buy a home.

You want to maybe cite those sources?

Immediate relief is good for the people being crushed by debt, and it’s a good boost for the economy. But it’s temporary without real reform. We also need what Senator Warren has been saying for years. There is no reason why the banks who nearly caused a second Great Depression should get .75% interest and students

Equally weird to me that despite this Nintendo is the only company to go to these lengths when many others, from Microsoft on down, don’t just avoid such punitive actions but sometimes even work WITH the modders and creators responsible.

copyright is certainly real. They’re effectively presenting the content for free without paying licensing fees.

This is literally the chain of events that happened on YouTube which led to the creation of the automatic takedown system. These dumbasses are about to ruin it for everyone else

“It seems the ban was because Disguised Toast watched “hours and hours” of anime without adding any of his own commentary.”

Seems pretty straightforward, then. He was illegally streaming content he didn’t own without transforming it at all. Whatever they’re getting wrong, seems like they got this one correct.

I personally don’t give a shit if they get banned for this. They don’t own the content, and it’s very debatable over whether they actually “elevate” or even add to the content. I don’t blame companies for stopping this.... because it’s effectively the same thing as pirating the show/movie.

Please feel free to dismiss this comment - it’s embarrassing to me that I’m interacting with a loser like you.

So you’re proud of your incoherent sentence structure?

Because you ‘believe’ that not wearing a mask is good. It’s not.

So you’re proud of your incoherent sentence structure?

And how are they doing with the virus? Do the have any other policies that might be different than the ones in the US? I guess you elaborated but only in the most minimal way possible, nothing you said actually explains anything.

Ok I’ll bite: Why do you say that? Can you elaborate as to why you believe that it’s not a very important public health and safety issue?

I don’t mind NOT shitting on the floor but it’s the mandate that I mustn’t shit on the floor that’s rubbing me the wrong way.
