An icon of a bygone era an example of both the highs and lows of that Director-driven New Hollywood era. Her role in the Shining is iconic and traumatic, her role in Popeye is perfectly cast.

I do like how Jack Quaid looks like am exact 50/50 combination of his parents—i.e., “what if Dennis Quaid were just cute as a little button?”

seeing a lot of the early screenings in my town (toronto) completely sold out already. i’m going on tuesday, really looking forward to it. i think this movie had some of the best recent marketing, too.

Since many of the posters here (me included) are often criticizing the writing on the site, it’s worth saying -- this review is very well written.

I would give a limb to see Paul F. Tompkins play or voice Turner D. Century

The angle with his kid is actually kind of interesting now that the kid is older and has to choose sides.  If Starr wasn’t so good at it the whole thing would have fallen flat years ago though.

Schnitzel, who plays Frodo, deserves all the cat acting awards for being so chill!

A Ghost Story already did the hundreds of years pass around a house thing, and that movie is amazing.

Zemeckis seems to be the king of making movies with technology that isn’t quite ready, just ready enough to freak us all the fuck out.  I’d say this is only in the last 20 years or so but he really always has been this guy, it’s just worked out better on his older stuff.

Its amazing, we’re still locking these people up and the guy who incited it is in line to retake the White House.

I can respect a villain whose entire drive is “I’m going to make my entire house a murder-puzzle-box explicitly to fuck with Mormon missionaries.”  Like, it’s niche, but let him cook.

It is absurd.

“Elemental" was pretty good too and came out just last year.
