I honestly don't understand this. Not in a, "why would people do such a thing" way, although that too, but in a, "what more do they *want*?" way. She's in the modest school uniform. That's more than they have a right to demand. What do they want from her? What would satisfy them?

Josh Ritter! Right, that's whose album I was going to buy today! I love him.

Try Stila lip stain! I put some on my hand in Sephora the other day, and all four colors were still there, if faded, the next morning. That's some serious staying power.

The Muppets was fantastic. Really. I though I wouldn't like it, that it would be a terrible terrible idea, etc. But, it was awesome. Rotten Tomatoes gives it a 97%. My boyfriend, who likes very, very few things, loved it.

Why hello there, fellow pagan! Nice meeting you, and Happy Yule!

I *love* the Chipmunk song. However, it could be because my Mom sings it ever year on Christmas, and she's awesome at it. I'm starting to join her and continue the tradition!

I know what you mean. Last time there was an article related to pubic hair, almost *every* *single* *comment* here was about when they first started shaving or waxing. I felt like a freak of nature, because, sheesh, if that many Jezzies shave/wax, how uncommon must I be in the population as a whole?

It's one thing when you wear sweats to the dog park, or to exercise, or to quickly grab a gallon of milk. It's one thing if you have a medical condition and sweat pants are all you can wear.

Do you mind my asking what field you work in?

Sounds interesting - want to fill out that argument?

And feminism is the reason that shock about your abilities as a woman doesn't really come up. No, feminism has not done enough to include poor and/or minority women, but the gains it has made *do* affect these women, too.

I can partially understand their point, I guess. Sometimes in shows, when a woman is kidnapped, I half expect her to be raped. However, I think that says more about my fear of rape, and my fear that whenever a man is in compete control of a woman, he's going to rape her. That conversations is so so weird, though.

So, I'm reluctant to break my Plato out, but that 34b person was talking about the Symposium, right? Right? Although I think they may be a bit confused about what Plato was talking about?

I saw this on Facebook, and thought it may help some of us in the midst of finals. Good luck, everyone!

One thing that really bothers me about this is the argument that choosing abstinence/purity/virginity (especially is so public a manner) fights against the over-sexualization of women. In fact, I'd say that these pledges and purity balls are just as sexualizing. Both are making a woman's sexuality her main feature,

This is why I only eat lentils I grow myself, watered with water I purify myself with my home-garden purification system. Made out of lentils.
