That is great. I don’t think anyone actually left my screening of Darkman, they just sat there and were traumatized, and later on my dad gave me hell.

Ted Raimi!

I was so keen to see this movie when it came out (I was 12) that I convinced my church youth group to see it on a movie outing. No one had heard of it, so I told everyone that it was a superhero movie and it might have “a few violent scenes”. Somehow they agreed and it went over...poorly.

My suggestion was going to be: “The Road” hair and make-up tests for cannibal gang members.

I think he’s referring to a scene in Batman Returns where he stuffs a bomb into the belt of a goon and kicks off a precipice.

And he mentions this consistently in social media posts, to reinforce that it’s not a sequel or an adaptation of an existing intellectual property. It’s technically true but maybe not something to tout about a film that is about as derivative as it gets.

I’d like to know if anyone has sung at the bar, put bread in your jar, and said Man what are you doin’ here?

Strewth!

And edibles are off-limits at the outset till they can figure

That reminds me, the pit bull curling machine has been out of order at my gym for weeks now!

If you watch to the end of the clip, it ends with him carrying the elevator back up the stairs.

This looks like it was shot in the torture chambers of the greater Vancouver area.

Surely at this point this is a largely symbolic move given that the most populous state in the nation has just legalized recreational use?

You’re right - it was added in the early 80s.

There was always the fact that Star Wars began on Episode IV...

I figured they were drawing a distinction between a movie that was set in the same universe, occurring chronologically prior to the events of the main series, and a true prequel which primarily involved the same characters and storylines from the main series.
