Heavy emphasis on "pretend" as pro players in tournaments use a variety of stages, not just Final Destination.

I think the main issue is what does the word "competitive" mean in the world of SSB. The game has items, wacky levels, crazy moves, and all sorts of stuff. So does removing all of these things make the game competitive? Because that is the definition that Nintendo is rolling with.
