SAAB...
I’m not sure what nationalist agenda would push Marcus’ story, but the dates have remained consistent for the last decade since I first learned of him. Anyways, in a another post I mentioned that the above Marcus car that resides in the Vienna Museum was from the late 1880s, but that particular model went into…
These were rare even when they came out as I remember as a teenager in the early 90s... I would always look at the tail end of MX-3s I saw looking for that little V6 badge. They were fantastic back then and had a great chassis which was closely related to the contemporary 323 which also handled great (my parents…
What I’m reading here, again, is that JK>JL
Torch, given your ancestry, I’m really surprised you didn’t mention Sigfried Marcus and his cars! He was an Austrian Jew whom the Nazis tried to erase from the history books. His company was mass-producing what would immediately be recognized today as an automobile as early as 1864. Powered by internal combustion…
Weird, cause the Focus, Fusion and Fiesta were all decent, fun, and better than what GM or Chrysler could muster. And that infamous Focus DST wasn’t bad when it was working, if not a little rough on the shifts, but so was the VW DSG when it debuted.
If that were the case then Honda, Toyota, Kia, Hyundai, Volkswagen, etc must be very wrong... they all still make lots of cars 🤔
Who’d a thunk Ford would lose billions when they lost ground to foreign competitors when they cut their cars? Idiots... you made really good mid sized and small cars and you fucked it up by putting all your eggs in the crossover and truck basket. Hackett isn’t one percent of the CEO Mullaly was... I’m really surprised…
From what I remember, having owned 2 JK Wranglers, is that only the actual transmission case is shared and some shift linkage and no internals or gearing...
I’ve always liked these and thought they’ve aged well, maybe a little better than the Benz they’re based on. NP all day for $5K.
In pretty sure The Grand Tour took a bigger hit from Amazon when they decided to change to format of the show and move away from the cars... I mean, I love the three blokes, but cars complete them.
Since these are everywhere up here in Alaska as a Trailblazer SS, I’m going CP... as much as i like it, i think it’s at least $2K more than it’s worth. Nice to see they replaced the rear air bag suspension with springs as that was a known weak spot on these. All in all, nice, rare truck, but a little too expensive
Didn’t Audi already develop a synthetic fuel that ran in traditional gasoline engines like 5-6 years ago?
I’m going to go out on a limb here and guess I won’t be able to get a CPO ‘19 Cayenne at my local Porsche store here in Anchorage for much less than the $67K they’re asking...
I’d say that interior is original, the fabric pattern was unique to the GT also.
NP all day... my very first Volkswagen was the black version of this car way back in 1994. Those GT-specific seats are unobtanium and I had to put a pair of GTi seats in front cause the tears were so bad. It’s also important to note that the Golf GT was a one year only model for the Mk II making this car very rare.…
Why?! Why is another great writer leaving this site?!? I has sad face...
There were a ton of fans of Western automotive design in the Soviet Union in the 70s... I’m pretty sure it’s very possible some young Soviet dude in his 20s would have gotten his hands on a car magazine or book that had the Avanti in it. After all, books on engineering and industrial design weren’t generally banned in…
They actually combined ideas from DKW, Hanomag, Opel and VW for the UrSAAB along with their aircraft design experience
