Also, Turkmenistan is not a Muslim country per se, it is merely the predominating religion there. The govt is a secular dictatorship.

Luthe went on later in his career to become BMW’s Chief of Design but before that designed the E30 and E31. Also did the NSU Ro80, the front end design of the original FIAT 500, and VW K70 and the Audi 100. He was very prolific and a touch influential. A couple years before he passed in the early 2000s, he ended up

It was designed by the famous Claus Luthe in ‘62 and he said he was heavily influenced by the Corvair’s design. If you people don’t know who Luthe was, you must turn in your jalop card immediately along with a $500 fine.

Don’t you put that evil here! The Zapporozhets was an unlicensed copy of the Prinz 4

How does any high-functioning car enthusiast not know anything about NSU?!? This confounds me

The side profile looks a lot like the current Lexus RX

The bikes are only interesting when a rider dies doing something stupid. The heavy trucks are where it’s at

Someone I work with that was new up here to Alaska (and cold in general) asked if it was ok to pour hot water on his windshield a couple weeks ago... I immediately looked at him and said NO! Don’t do it...for this very reason.

I have a Canadian made telescoping scraper and brush that has extra soft bristles for paint... And it telescopes a couple feet, very handy on a full-sized pickup

I frequently see mentally deficient people not scraping all the snow off their windows here in Alaska... And then the idiots that do the windows, but not the hood. Do it all people!!! It only takes a couple minutes and your car can be warming while you do it.

Also, rotisserie chickens

I would also posit cooled seats are a necessity. I’m on my second car with them and I’ll never own a daily driver without them again. Swamp ass is a condition now relegated to the past!

This theoretical robot must also be well versed in excellent Russian swears and insults.

The Trans-Siberia highway in the spring is not for the faint of heart

If you can get autonomous cars to work in Россия, they’ll pretty much work anywhere

Andrew is wrong and has obviously never driven a full-size pickup to tow anything. You absolutely need to know the transmission temp, engine temp and oil pressure, not just have a light come on... By then it’s too late and your truck is toast.

Of course BMW-MINI would be smart and not offer this in their largest market first (US) cause that makes total sense.

Oh, I’m totally aware of the CJ-6 and CJ-8 (I’m a little obsessed with Jeeps)...just there were some CJ-2As converted by fire equipment companies to a longer wheelbase and then there were Farmer John hack jobs.

That’s what I meant...there were a couple fire equipment companies that built them...but then there were also hack jobs.

So the stretched CJ-2A may be worth looking into. Many of these were factory converted for fire fighting use and are extremely rare...
