So, does Ohio check a database instantly when you apply for a plate or do they make you wait a couple weeks to find out if you were rejected? Up here in Alaska, you enter your plate into the website and it does an instant preliminary check that approves or disapproves... You’d be amazed at what gets through sometimes

There’s a company in the Czech Republic called Mortar Investments. They recondition all sorts of old Soviet and Czech trucks, vans and even tanks and can arrange shipment and all importation paperwork. It’s fun just to peruse their inventory.

Are you in AK? Fat tire bikes with studs are everywhere

So...I can get a later model fitted with the fairly robust UMZ 451 2.4 L I4 from the Czech Republic for about $5K...or spend twice that for an older model with the Benz engine (that prob cost dude about $1K). Parts cost about the same as there are several places in Ukraine you can order from. I do like the touch of a

Hence why I’ve got over 300 lbs of sand and gravel bags in the bed of my ‘16 F150 for the wonderful Alaskan winter... I don’t like sliding around much.

It’s not the car’s fault who its former owner was... I say buy it and enjoy it

When I think Lancia, I think of the Fulvia Berlina, Stratosphere, Delta, etc... One of the most innovative car companies in history died the day the last Delta came off the line in the early 90s

See my above response to 50fridge. Volvo has a very long history (as did its late compatriot company SAAB) of building overboosted engines that last decades. So why would the T8 be any different? Those Swedes might actually know what they’re doing...

Overboosted SAAB engines last decades as do Volvo turbo engines...everything from the 242GT to the 740T and even later 850s/S70. It’s usually the body hardware that fails around the engines.

So, the E70 I had had a leaky front differential. Rather than being able to replace a $10 seal on the diff as you would on a Jeep or a $50 seal on a Mercedes G-Wagen, BMW requires a full differential replacement which costs approximately $1800. That is poor engineering my friends.

My point was that BMW forgot how to build cars after 2006-07. IMO they are just as bad as early 2000's Mercedes now. Difference is, Mercedes learned their lesson and went back to building robust and reliable cars with good materials. BMWs seem to be getting more cheaply built and decontented while the price tag keeps

Apparently you’ve never owned an E70...a vehicle who’s second garage is the BMW dealer

Oh, and Nokians 4 Life! Seriously, got Nokian Hakka 8s on our GLK and it never loses traction on ice or snow. My F150 however has Firestone Winterforces and they absolutely blow on anything but fluffy snow. Both are studded of course, because Alaska and our house is on the side of a mountain overlooking Anchorage

This is why you frequently see Subarus in the ditch after a snow storm here in Alaska

Never, because they forgot how to build cars.

Added to the fact the S90 will last decades whilst the BMW will begin to break over and over again after 4-5 years.

All Volvo had to do is to take a picture of any BMW over 5 years old in its natural habitat: at the shop being repaired, yet again, costing its owner thousands of dollars in the process.

I’m glad to see the one doing the towing was unscathed...it’s a VAZ-2101 Kopeka (Копейка). The 1st generation that was actually a good car and the original licensed copy of the FIAT 124...and actually a better car with more power, better steel, and a robust suspension,

Exactly what I was going for! Glad someone caught it

The car that was t-boned appears to be a Lada Samara 1500 too!
