Guess what the F22 isn’t as expensive as... Wait for it... The F35! (And it’s less capable than the Raptor)

Dash computer?!? I had an ‘87 Golf GT in high school over 20 years ago and that is merely a digital clock. No computer involved. The 8 valve GT was actually a little faster off the line than the 16 valve GTi due to gearing by Porsche and quite a bit more rare if you can find one.
This idea isn’t so farfetched. The original Lada 2101 had pretty crisp lines when introduced in the 60s that were the equal of the FIAT 126 it was based on. By the time the 2103 through 2106 were produced, lack of maintenance and overuse of the stamping dies at the Tolyatti plant left them with wavy bodies and poor…
I swear, when I saw the picture for the story I thought you were going to say Maserati made their own version of the Studebaker Avanti
So, I read this as BMW+more “high” tech=in the shop 45% more of the time you own it
I second this entire post. Having owned a 2011 X5d, albeit the M57Y is actually pretty reliable...however, all of the accessories, exhaust filtration system, transmission and front diffs attached to that engine are the miscreants.
I am still trying to fathom the name change from FF to this idiotic name...and then they charge more for it than the FF-badged car when it’s...wait for it...the same exact car!
In my experience owning 8 examples of so-called “German perfection” over my life ranging from Volkswagen to BMW and Mercedes, the word perfection as related to German cars is dubious at best. The Mercedes (currently in the stable) is the only one that can claim to be near perfection so far...the BMW and VWs, no where…
I’m going NP on this one...extremely rare Toyo truck variant and in excellent shape. There’s one of this up here in Anchorage I see fairly regularly by REI and it’s in equally impressive condition and definitely lust-worthy
These Olympics are turning into the shit-show I predicted Brazil would display
My post was supposed to be funny man...fun killer!
So...last time I checked the rudder control was on the bridge, not the engine room, so what the hell was the helmsman doing about 6 decks up?
I find it awkward...even after 14 years in. I usually just say thanks and move on. It was originally just a way to get a steady job and pay off my student debt, now it’s just a job and I’ve only 6 years till I retire out...thank Christ. The military will suck the life out of you if you let it, even in the best…
Ford should strike back with ‘fighter planes are made of aluminum” and they should also go with the fact that the Chevy/GMC has terrible handling compared to the F150. I’m currently waiting on my ‘16 F150 SuperCrew short box (w/ 5.0) to arrive at the dealer. Before I put a deposit down though, I gave the GM a chance.…
850 was a fantastic car and also the last design presided over by genius/visionary Volvo designer Jan Wilsgaard
I heart Minors!
Cars still rust though. And one thing that’s going to be the death knell for many modern cars is when their electronic engine management systems start going bad as well as the infotainment systems. No one’s going to drive a car with a 6" black hole in the dash.
I really don’t think cars are built better now than they were in the early-mid 60s. The initial overall build quality may be a touch better, but engines and transmissions used to have higher-quality, longer lasting metals and rubbers in their construction.
On my ‘11 X5d (that I got rid of since it was a giant POS), BMW had deleted the tool kit which I had to scrounge together researching part numbers and such. They originally did it to save X amount of dollars per car in the US market, to include deleting the spare tire and tools (lug wrench, jack, etc). Some idiot told…
So, they just looked at the F35 on paper and not the actual testing results that show what a failure the plane is...I’m guessing Lockheed has used that huge budget overrun to support a sizeable bribery budget
