Because we have a lifetime of experience with cab drivers, and if they all had background checks then apparently background checks don’t really do anything. The medallion system is bullshit and I don’t want the cost of license speculation passed on to me, the consumer.

You’ll probably have to call like 3 police departments who don’t know what you’re talking about and then one ten miles away will let you do it at 2pm on a Tuesday in 3 weeks.
