SNL oral histories have become my favorite way to consume SNL.

Yeah, I think he wrote all 13 episodes of the first season of Last Man on Earth alone, and basically told the producers that if they'd gotten the green light for 22 episodes it would have killed him.

Which, now that I think about it, makes his 30 Rock role even more fascinating.

There have been a few quotes from Tina Fey along the lines of "Will Forte's so handsome and friendly that you keep forgetting he's completely insane."

The sketch surrounding that Zell Miller bit wasn't funny at all until Forte really got going. I bet someone at SNL saw that Zell Miller thing and said "OK we've got to do a Hardball sketch just to see how far Will can get his forehead veins to pop out."

Whenever it cut to the falcon doing fucked up things, I would just be counting down the moments until Will Forte was back on the screen.

1) Sketches cut from dress rarely live to see another day, so it's a little special that it did eventually air.
2) That sentence is written the way something from "Potato Chip" would have been said, so I like it.

Forte saying "Oh, Donald" is one of the little sound clips my brain likes to play back whenever I'm in a good mood.

Will Forte was so good on SNL.

It's a good thing comedic timing ranks are coincidentally also alphabetical!
