I feel such second hand embarrassment just looking at this photo.

The second part of that lemonade stand story In The New Yorker is kind of revealing, too, but in a different way:

They persuaded their bodyguard to buy lemonade, and then their driver, and then the maids, who “dug deep for their spare change.”

We have Trump because America has a bunch of racist assholes who are willing to screw themselves over economically just to fuck over people of color? Yeah, that sounds right.

I’m having a terrific laugh over how the Alt-Right has turned on Trump but I’m deeply disturbed at how so many on the left and in the center view this Syria Strike as one of the better things Trump has done. The fact that the focus of so many progressive outlets has been to point out Trump’s hypocrisy on Syria

It’s so curious that these conspiracy hunters find themselves - the one time there does seem to be a genuine conspiracy going on - on the wrong side of it and refuse to believe it.

The eyes of a person who is entirely lacking a soul. I want confirmation that he’s human.

And, he’s down at Mar-a-Lago because of course he is.

It shouldn’t have to be said, but I will say it anyway: If you voted for Trump because you “just didn’t like Hillary,” I will never fucking forgive you.

Every time I see something like this from the Trump camp (i.e. a visible and blatantly obvious sign that they have absolutely zero experience at this), I can’t help but wonder if this is because:

It must have been too warm for his cravat.

Tillerson is not the Secretary of State to look after the US’ interests. Tillerson is the Secretary of State to look after ExxonMobil’s interests and the sooner we all accept that, the sooner we can start trying to work around that limitation.

There is no evidence Jared Kushner is competent.

She probably wants manufacturing jobs back. Like most conservatives, she’s too dumb to realize that her demand should be for job retraining to help those in dying industries continue to earn a living. But...Republicans are obsessed with the past, so it’s no wonder they always want to go backwards.

“What advantages does this war have over, say, an ethnic cleansing, which I could also afford?”

The economy? Sounds like they weren’t doing so bad personally. So she voted to fuck herself over for a bunch of people she probably doesn’t even know? Or, more realistically, they were doing okay but somehow thought that they were magically going to be become rich under Trump.

What infuriates me is that what she learned from all of this is that she thinks she shouldn’t have voted at all. Really? With hindsight, you don’t wish you had exercised your right to vote for someone whose administration probably wouldn’t have ended up encouraging the type of ICE deportations that resulted in tearing

“I did it for the economy. We needed a change.”

I feel bad for him. But her? Screw that. She should have listened to him more carefully, or, you know, not drunk the Kool-Aid and done some research. The only good thing to come of this is that maybe, just maybe, people like this will turn on him in 2020.
