unfortunately, with any world government, there is the problem of pride and national identity. Would you be able to give up your citizenship and your pride for your country in favor of a new citizenship and the loss of your national identity? Not me.

We are only 4% of the world population, just leave the United States out of it. Don't take our money, don't accept our help just ignore us. Think of it as teaching us a lesson.

Why would yo want one? If you get sick of one country its nice to go else where.

How much government do you think you need? Where I live, I have city, county, water district, school district, fire district, State and then Federal. I do not need more- I need less. Was this just an opportunity to give Hughes a platform? If you want to ask the question about when (or if) we'll ever have One World Government, the last person to ask is someone who spends his career openly advocating that position and its inevitability.

Excuse me for being dense, but it seems the assumption by the professor in the article and by the article itself, is that an overriding world government is a good thing.

A world government would tax the west to raise the standard of living in poorer nations. In the end everyone would experience a life that a Pakistani bricklayer would find moderately prosperous.

I'd love to hear the convoluted logic behind that claim... Given that the vast majority of human history has been under one form of tyranny or another without globalism, I'm curious why you think globalism somehow equates to tyranny.
