Ya! True. Still once you've bought it, it is yours to do with as you wish and that includes repairing it yourself. How long is the warranty anyway 90 days?

Check out iFixIt.com.
So Apple makes a profit on the sale and also on the recycling. No wonder they have almost 100 billion in assets. iFixIt's thrust was repair AND recycling. Read the article and watch the video. I repeat, a recycler is not going to mess with gear that is too hard to tear-down without destroying the very parts they are…
You are sadly misinformed. If you doubt this check out iFixIt's diatribe on the latest iPad. When a product is manufactured in such a way that simple repairs are almost impossible, no recycler in the world is going to want to pay for the labor to disassemble a product held together with glue and double-sided tape to…
I love this guy's accent. And he laughs the way Jamie and Adam (on Mythbusters) laugh when they blow shit up.
How about more research on making existing products user repairable/recycling friendly?
This is very funny. Thanks!
They might try spending a little more money on manufacturing so their products can be easily disassembled for RECYCLING! The new iPad is held together with glue and double sided tape; almost impossible to open with damaging it.
Film really is theater; that's the difference.
I was really hoping they'd break the 16 MegaPixel barrier on this one.
More like ten feet.
I'm not sure the Yahoo suit has any merit, but then I'm not a lawyer and I haven't seen the brief. Bring it on Yahoo. Let a jury and judge decide, not some hack writer for Gizmodo.
The ancient Romans used to strap the victim to the outside of the wheel. Not a big difference from what I can see.
Come on guys, it has zero nutritional value.
When you can clean chrome bumpers and restore car battery function with coke is this really a surprise? Hey, I love the taste of the stuff, but I've known for a long time it's probably not good to actually drink.
Did you really have to write "withering-away-and-dying" when talking about this? Sheesh!
Dudette: Are you mad at me? Why are you so quiet?
I still have a huge problem with this. I've even been known to say "if you didn't want a solution why are you telling me about this?" It's a constant struggle for me not to analyze, hypothesize, and expound. I wish someone made a device that would pinch my ear-lobe when I needed to shut up and nod sympathetically.
I like it. Sounds kind of power hungry with the servos to move the laser pointers. It might also require separate power sources, batteries for the pointers and another source for the Arduino. I like the effect though.
