For sure. As if a direct challenge to my earlier statement, the announcement of Darksiders: Genesis coming to Gamepass TOMORROW is surely well-timed.

I never feel more like an obsolete old man who just doesn’t “get it” than when I read articles like this.
I’d LIKE to believe you...
Hey, that’s my wife yer talkin’ about!
Savagely perfect.
This is an excellent analogy.
It may have sucked out loud, but at least Shenmue 3 is a released game people can buy and play.
There will never be another Cloud Imperium game. There is no need. They can live the good life off of this one for the rest of their lives.
This was so, so stupid. I laughed a lot. Cheers to you.
I played through the one Stadia game which looked interesting to me (Gylt, which was pretty wonderful, I admit) during the free two-month Pro trial recently. They’ve since given me a $10 coupon I think I should just let expire at year’s end, rather than use it to buy a game I won’t be able to play once the service…
Go to jail.
Wow, I feel like an idiot. I went through that Lev/Abby conversation thinking Lev was referring to being called “the acolyte.” When references to “Lily” are made later, I just assumed it was NPC chatter I’d missed in the fray.
This episode was the season highlight for me. I agree that the average is higher this season, as well. I count six of ten which are at least good, which far outstrips the three or four from the first season.
Liked the episode. Hated the idiotic “Anatomy of a Loser” science fair exhibit. Those three vapid nitwits would have met with the same withering assessment that Irene got from the teacher, irrespective of its cruelty: it’s low-effort, and doesn’t show a hypothesis, laboratory trial evidence, or any discovered result.
The unconscious man clapping mid-surgery was my “oh, for fuck’s sake” moment. The episode had been teetering on the brink of trash for me, and that shoved it unceremoniously over.
TO THE DUNGENESS WITH BOTH OF YOU.
Watch Dogs 2 was my co-game of the year, a couple of years back. It is brilliant and addictive fun. I freely admit, however, my far more shallow reading of the plot as a white guy. It warms me to see it praised for meaningful reasons beyond just being fun.
This was an absolute delight. The only downer was at the end, when they said they’d be back with another Wholesome Direct... in 2021. While I have no doubt this was a lot of work to put together, I would eagerly devour them (and swell my Steam wishlist to shameful levels) on a much more regular basis.
Yep. They have full blank-check status with me, in the way that A24 does with film.
The Mafia series always seemed JUST on the verge of greatness without ever quite reaching it, for me. I loved the story of the first game, but found it clunky and backward to play. The sequel went of its way to give a huge open world... with absolutely nothing to do in it.
