Can vouch. Been on 6 times. Best was rolling with a boxter and an Audi... Ave 90+mph for a good hour through.

Back in May, I found traffic on the Wilbur Cross Parkway (where the speed limit is 55) generally moving at about 80.
If you are going to buy a flimsy collapsible gadget why not just bring a regular plastic pour over coffee cone like the Mellita?

I would say that, assuming you have the discipline to pay it off every month, one should buy everything with a credit card.
I worked as a shift manager at Starbucks for 8 years and you are entirely correct. The first drink you purchase can be any drink. It doesn’t have to be hot or cold coffee or tea.
Every weekday morning I get a latte, read for a bit, then get a coffee refill to take with me. Maybe it’s changed, but at one time the SBUX web site said it was up to individual store policy as to whether they gave free coffee refills to latte (etc.) customers. A couple of times I’ve had new-to-that-store baristas…
Disagree. As someone who cannot sleep sitting up, taking the red-eye usually costs me an additional day on the end to get back into a normal sleep schedule. I avoid them whenever possible. Also, if for some reason, your flight is cancelled, typically, there isn’t a “next flight” for you to try to get on, until the…
Wear and tear is a real concern with some of the rare items in our library, for sure. I take my literature classes on a “field trip” to our rare book room pretty much every semester, and they always get a lesson beforehand on the proper way to conduct themselves in the room—no food or drink, gloves on always, ask the…
Same in Chicago. Even when the lanes are separated by barriers, a-hole drivers find a way in to park, or on accident thinking they are turn lanes.
That’s fair. SXM faces some interesting challenges in the next few years as the various streaming services gain more ground. I’m hoping that when we start seeing Low Earth Orbit satellite internet that they’ll just transition to that network outright.
no. not normal at all..
I was just thinking about this, and it made me sad. I think in an AirBnB or a Bed and Breakfast, you treat the hosts like you would another person in you social circle/class. You’d be ashamed to leave behind a filthy room. This isn’t as often the case for hotel cleaning staff, and race and class has more than a little…
It’s the weirdest stay I’ve had yet in an airbnb, but it was close to Dogtown on St. Paddy’s, so we made it work. I’m always looking for dog-friendly homes, anyway, and there aren’t enough healing crystals in the world for a host like that.
I’ve tried scrubbing grills and my many cast-iron pans with multiple methods and never been so happy as when I bought a chainmail scrubber. It is the fastest, easiest, most effective, and least wasteful method.
That’s a great tip for visiting any big city. Not only can the distance be deceiving, but there are lots of interesting things to see along the way that you can see if you walk but you’d miss on transit.
Man, if you guys think a 45-60min leisure walk is far...
That distance can also be deceiving. I went to NYC with a couple of friends a few years ago, and convinced them to walk from Greenwich Village to the World Trade Center because it was “only THIS far on the map”. Now, “only THIS far on the map” has become an inside joke whenever they wish to mock me.
Exceptional reading comprehension
As an ex-Londoner, I was kind of weirded out by how ‘small’ NYC is on my first visit, especially on that east-west axis. Which of course is great, as the best way to get to know a town is to walk it.
And it’s not just Apple Pay either. I mean all our credit cards come with chip technology in them and you use a pin similar to a debit card. It is less common for a place to not accept contactless payments than the other way around where I live in Edmonton.
