They could include lots of genders. Birdo is a man dressed as a woman who lays eggs, Toadette is a monogendered fungus who identifies as a woman, Yoshi is a female egg laying dinosaur that identifies as male. You could really fill out the spectrum using the Mario cast.

I think, if you listed out all the points against Hillary, you would find some that weren’t about misogyny. All the criticism of her personality was pretty cut and dry misogyny, and the health/mental health stuff was sexist as all get out, but even on this very site there were some pretty valid points against her.
