“Outside” is a pretty shitty game, with real slow, grind-y cosmetic rewards that are almost imperceptible. Graphics are great, but same-y, and the weather effects can be too intense for me sometimes. Adding a Pokemon mini-game definitely helps.

Advertising gambling to children is ethically fine. Milton Bradley does it all the time. Lying about your stake in a gambling company is unethical when promoting a gambling company.
By this standard, random loot drops, like straight drops out of enemy inventory, are gambling, too. Basically any kind of digitally randomized reward would be gambling. That's a broad definition that includes lots of game mechanics.
