The freighter sequence and the preceding Falcon escape sequence felt the most like fresh, original Star Wars to me.

The torture was in line with the torture in New Hope and Empire. Empire was probably more explicit, New Hope less. New Hope’s torture droid was kiddie nightmare fuel for certain, tho.

I could still sell the ticket. Sure, each viewing of the film is a distinct event. After the event ends, the ticket is no longer useful. But it’s mine, and I could sell it.
For many goods, resale is a protected consumer right. Whether or not that is the case with digital goods, or software licenses, is an ongoing legal question.
When I buy a movie ticket, I’m not buying the paper - I’m buying the time in the theater. I can give the ticket to someone else and they can use it, instead. Or, nowadays, I can give them my confirmation code.
Software... theft? Those words, individually, have meaning that disappears when you combine them into this phrase. It’s nonsense. What would that even look like?

That’s fine in theory, but there’s a lot of quality multiplayer experiences out there that are free to play. Generally, I pay for single player experiences, and play free multiplayer nearly exclusively.
Multiplayer games offer front loaded enjoyment on release, which trickles into unplayability inevitably over time. Single player experiences can be returned to at any time, so long as the technology continues to exist. Longer, sometimes. I played Chronotrigger last month and it was awesome. Oh definitely agree, there. It’s not unreasonable at all. I guess I just generally play as basically a raider anyways - i’m there to take their stuff, or because someone asked me to kill them. Even when I’m defending settlements, I know I’m also destroying other settlements to do it.
