I'm not a pc gamer but I know all the tech arguments for consoles fail bc pcs are more powerful, but the convenience of the console, while I sit on my couch with my wife/kids/friends mean much more than any spec you can throw out to trump the console.

if you plan to brine, then put it in the brine now in the fridge. I'm not sure how safe it will be, I don't think it'll kill you, but the cold water will absolutely help speed up the dethaw process. I do this with steak and other chops in a sealed bag, but have never with a 14 lbs turkey.
