I like this idea and hope it sticks around. Eating less red meat is better for your health and the environment, so I can get behind anything that helps make small changes palatable.

Southern gal here. I just fry them up. I’m sure that pie is delicious, but I’m not making pie crust for green tomatoes. Also, even around here, green tomatoes are super expensive. So unless you’ve got your own garden, a large quantity would be cost prohibitive.

I thought the SAME thing!

When I ate steak (over 20 years ago), I liked it really rare. I still like my salmon fairly rare and my sushi raw. Never had steak tartare. As you say, I am beyond imagining the taste of raw plant-based meat. Though it’s impossible to say until you’ve tried it. I, however, will leave that to a more adventurous person.

I don’t mind a few of those. Asking about closing hours is pretty normal. And I did have a boss who used the “If you can lean you can clean.” I agreed with her. If everyone cleans up instead of just lounging (outside of break time) then we all get out of there earlier and cleanliness of a restaurant or any public

Yes, it is puzzling. I grew up eating tomato sandwiches and in the summer I still do! But I respect food aversions (within reason...we have one friend whose food aversions are so extensive that it’s painful to invite him to a restaurant) and so it seems like a small thing to ask that raw tomatoes not b on a sandwich.

I would never order a flatbread off any fast food/fast casual menu. If I want pizza, I’ll go to a place that specializes in pizza. I’m not even drawn to flatbreads at local restaurants that aren’t specializing in pizza. I’m all about the dough. In five minutes can put toppings on a piece of naan at home and call it a

Um...yeah, how was she going to survive if the baby wouldn’t come out? “Leaving it to God” means, I guess, letting her lay there until she dies with the dead baby inside her?

I grew up in the 70's. We had homemade soups, stews, chili, yeast rolls, mashed potatoes, roast beef, spaghetti, little squares of chocolate or vanilla cake, freshly baked cookies...All made in house. During my recent visits to an elementary school lunchroom with my GAL child the offerings were dismal. Packaged apple

Just say no to grocery store and liquor store boxes for moving, unless you want bugs in your new digs. We just moved. Boxes at Uhaul and Lowes/Home Depot are surprisigly cheap and much cheaper than an exterminator. Some Uhaul locations also have a drop off of used boxes and people can go by and get them. You can also

God I hate milk. Hated it even more in school when it was always lukewarm. We live behind a juice shop and they make their own super rich almond milk. I can handle that once in a while, except it’s really expensive.

You should do what you think is best for your family and I understand that sometimes the easiest route is just...the best option in the moment. I get it. I’m just saying Lunchables were never something on my kids’ radar. They aren’t healthy. They aren’t cheap. We just didn’t do that because, besides everything else,

Annie’s Goddess dressing is really good. That’s about all I get from them. I’m sure I’ll venture into their mac and cheese once our granddaughter arrives from Oz in December.

I just get Heinz. I don’t think ketchup should be a complicated decision. Not like mayonnaise. (Don’t get that argument started. But it’s Blue Plate or Kewpie, followed by Dukes or Hellmanns.)

I don’t care how busy you are, you can do better than a Lunchable. Get a box of Sociables (crackers in various shapes), slices of deli meat, cubes of cheese, an applesauce or fruit cup. I would NEVER IN A MILLION YEARS serve a child I loved or even kinda liked a shit fucking Lunchable. It’s not complicated. Why do

Eh. I don’t miss steak much. My husband would probably like it because he still eats meat sometimes and then feels like shit when he eats it. Probably shouldn’t tell this story, but he went to a BBQ restaurant last Thursday and clogged a toilet up for the whole weekend with a huge turd that simply would not flush. We

I’m known in my family for my soups. We eat soup for a meal quite often - either with a salad or a sandwich on the side. In fact we’re having roasted red pepper and pumpkin soup tonight with smoked salmon topped focaccia. I’m also making stuffed grape leaves just because I want some and can’t get any good ones around

Y’all. I watched it. It’s drecky and terrible. In SO many ways. The lead actress does her best but her counterpoint is a straight up no charisma douchebag. And the whole lack of healthcare thing is supposed to make us chant USA USA USA!? The only thing that makes it better (?) than utterly forgettable is its almost

I visit our Asian markets frequently. I’ve bought the good brands. For some reason oyster sauce is just not a flavor I’ve grown to like or reach for. When it comes to Asian cuisines, I cook mainly Thai and Vietnamese with some Korean and Japanese. (We had bun rieu last night.) My daughter-in-law’s family is from

I used to freeze a Capri sun pouch and then pack whatever I would normally pack.
